About a year ago, since I first had my pre-internship site visit. But at the time, I knew I could not be deployed to my HTE due to my back subjects. I still followed the pre-internship process since I wanted to spend time with them at least.

In June 2022, together with the Bravo team of interns, we visited the Regional News Group (RNG) and People’s Television (PTV). This was during the pandemic when restrictions were loosened because of the declining number of cases in the country. Travel expenses would break banks at the time, and doing the paperwork to access the city was taxing. Yet, most of us dedicated time and budget to meet each other again after years of isolation due to the pandemic. The visits were located on opposing ends of the city. RNG was hard to access, but it was worth it when we met Mr. Dhobie De Guzman. He gave us a studio tour and briefed us on what tasks we may encounter in their organization. It was a real challenge to hike from the RNG office to the main road, plus it also requires patience to wait for taxis or jeepneys since only a few travel to the area. Some decided to walk further, and others tried their luck. In the afternoon, it was time for the PTV visit. Unlike in RNG, the place is more accessible, and none of us had difficulty finding it. We were also briefed regarding the history and mission of PTV then we were sent to their studio and tech room to observe their live program.

Now let’s jump to July 2023, but it’s DZWT, PTV, and team Charlie interns this time. In DZWT, we were asked to join their live stream, and other students like us got to observe in their tech booth. I was able to see old and new consoles. The interns were divided into multiple batches since the booths could not accommodate many people.

It’s been a year since I first had my pre-internship site visit. But this year, I know I do not have any back subjects and can be deployed to an HTE. Now I am following the pre-internship process and just like other students who got delayed, I want to get the most out of my time in my last year in the university.
